Welcome to Anchored Coaching: My Journey and Why I Coach

Hey there, I’m Jo. Super excited you ended up here, honestly.

Let’s be real... reaching out, especially when you’re hunting for a bit of support, can feel weirdly huge. I get it. That’s pretty much why I started Anchored Coaching in the first place. I wanted this to be the sort of spot where people who are done with life, overwhelmed, or just… looking for something new could actually breathe for a minute.

A bit about me…


So here’s my story: I’ve spent over a two decades basically being everyone’s go-to human in the background from reception desks, admin chaos, project wrangling, and even accounts (yes, spreadsheets and I are way too familiar). I became the “Jo, can you just…” person. If life was a circus, I was the one herding cats and making sure nobody set anything on fire.


But then, I fell in love, with a man and his two boys, I signed up for the wild ride known as step-mum life. Oh boy, nothing prepped me for that. It’s hands-down the hardest, coolest, most gut-wrenching job I’ve had (and that includes taking calls from angry customers before my second cup of tea, or energy drink). Throw in being diagnosed with ADHD (me and plenty of my family, it’s a group project, honestly), and wow, I started to see just how many folks are out there feeling lost, invisible, or running out of steam.


And that? That started something for me: it was time to do things differently. Hence, coaching.


Why “Anchored Coaching?” Well… ever felt like you might never get through the storms some days? I have. “Anchored” just made sense. Anchors don’t kill storms, but they do keep you in one spot while the madness spins around you. That’s what I’m here to offer, some space to breathe, find your footing, and not get totally upended by life’s cyclones.


My values? Family, learning, helping, keeping it honest, keeping it real. I want to show up exactly like I am with the messy bits and all. Anchored Coaching isn’t about being shiny or perfect; it’s about being human (and way more useful).

Who do I vibe with?

  • ADHDers and their partners—sorting out daily life, relationship stuff, how to keep from misplacing your phone AND your mind.

  • Stepmums and the whole crazy-blended-family scene—loyalty tangles, role confusion, or just wanting to scream into a pillow.

  • Anyone stuck, overwhelmed, or standing at a crossroads with no map app in sight.

What’s it actually like to work with me?

No magic wands, no “five tips to fix your life.” I’m not about that. Instead: you get a spot where you’re heard, not hurried. Where your messy, complicated life is totally valid. We dig for what works for you, not just what worked for some random person on TikTok.

I keep it low-judgment, straight-talking, and practical as hell. If you’re after someone to cheer you on, call you out (kindly), and give you stuff you can actually use, we’ll get along just fine.
